About Pianist Yun-Jou....
Taiwanese pianist Yun-Jou Lin was trained in Russian music discipline by Adrei Yeh, the pupil of renowned Russian musician Lev Naumov. Under the discipline of Russian music, she has developed a distinguished tone and exquisite interpretation of her music, and is highly praised by Andrei Yeh “delicate and various tone color, and great sensitivity for music.” She is currently dedicated to British contemporary music and various realms of music under the guidance of Daniel Browell and Margaret Fingerhut, expanding her vision as an aspiring pianist.
Yun-Jou enjoys her career as an active pianist, she has given performances in London, Birmingham, Beijing, and cities across Taiwan, including St Mary Le Strand Church, Birmingham Cathedral, Taiwan National Concert Hall, Zhongshan Hall, Wen-Heui Hall, Taipei Bach Recital Hall, and New Taipei Art City Center. Her exquisite and expressive interpretations have captivated audience's heart and received glowing reviews. As an ambitious pianist, Yun-Jou delves into various realms of music, including jazz, electronic keyboard music, and contemporary music, and her passion leads her as a chamber musician and collaborative pianist in numerous concerts. She has been invited to the Schubert Projects promoted by American pianist Victor Rosenbaum, the concert projects featured in Taiwanese composer Tyzen Hsiao’s chamber music in Taipei, British new music ensemble with British composer Bobbie-Jane Gardner, and British Festival by British pianist Mark Bebbington whom she was highly commended. She has collaborated with Chinese violinist Shuwei Zuo as a Duet for violin and piano, giving performances throughout the UK. In addition, Yun-Jou has also engaged in music charity events as a violinist, featuring a series of concert themes by Taiwanese contemporary composers, and dedicated to nurturing piano and violin education, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
Yun-Jou earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with the Future Aspiring Musicians Cultivation Program scholarship and Academic Excellence Awards during her studies at the National Taiwan Normal University and was selected to a scholarship-supported program at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under the tutelage of Yang Ming. She is currently pursuing an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
