About Pianist Yun-Jou....
Taiwanese pianist Yun-Jou Lin was trained in Russian music discipline by Adrei Yeh, the pupil of renowned Russian musician Lev Naumov. Under the discipline of Russian music, she has developed a distinguished tone and exquisite interpretation of her music, and is highly praised by Andrei Yeh “delicate and various tone color, and great sensitivity for music.” She is currently dedicated to British contemporary music and various realms of music under the guidance of Daniel Browell and Margaret Fingerhut, expanding her vision as an aspiring pianist.
Yun-Jou is currently holding the position of Junior Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music and provides coaching for postgraduate and undergraduate students. She enjoys her career as an active pianist, she has given performances in London, Birmingham, Beijing, and cities across Taiwan, including St Mary Le Strand Church, Birmingham Cathedral, Taiwan National Concert Hall, Zhongshan Hall, Wen-Heui Hall, Taipei Bach Recital Hall, and New Taipei Art City Center. Her exquisite and expressive interpretations have captivated audience's heart and received glowing reviews. As an ambitious pianist, Yun-Jou is currently dedicated to British contemporary music and various realms of music, and her passion leads her to be a chamber musician and collaborative pianist. She has been invited to the Schubert projects with pianist Victor Rosenbaum, concerts featuring chamber music works by Taiwanese composer Tyzen Hsiao, performances with British new music ensemble led by composer Bobbie-Jane Gardner, and the British Festival curated by British pianist Mark Bebbington, for whom she was highly commended. She has collaborated with Chinese violinist Shuwei Zuo as a Duo, and they recently won the Herbert Lumby Prize. In addition, Yun-Jou also engages in music charity events as a violinist and is dedicated to nurturing piano and violin education, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
Yun-Jou earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with the Future Aspiring Musicians Cultivation Program scholarship and Academic Excellence Awards during her studies at the National Taiwan Normal University and was selected to a scholarship-supported program at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under the tutelage of Yang Ming. She is currently pursuing an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
